[ULUBUDA] Come meet a Tibetan Monk this Monday 3/11!

Hi everyone,

For anyone who has ever wondered whether Tibet is really as Brad Pitt
portrays it...

For anyone who wonders what those pointy hats Lamas wear are for...

For anyone curious about the Buddhism of the Dalai Lama...

This Monday night, *meditate* and *engage* with Tibetan Monk Lobsang Darjy!


Who: Venerable Lobsang Darjy, master astrologer and monk with a background
in the Nyingma, Kagyudpa and Gelugpa traditions of Tibetan Buddhism

*"For many years, he has been resident at Rajha monastery in Amdo, where he
completed Buddhist studies including Buddhist philosophy and Vajrayana
practices. During this time, he was Chant master for seven years, ritual
master for three years, as well as studying Tibetan Medicine and Astrology.
He studied medicine at the Qinghai Traditional Tibetan Medicine Hospital. In
addition, Lama Lobsang is a writer and poet: his book, 'One Voice' tells of
his experience as a Tibetan in a rapidly changing modern world. He is a
member of the Tibetan Writers' Association, under whose auspices he attended
the Italian PEN Freedom of Expression Conference in Venice, in May 2005.
Lama Lobsang is currently visiting the United Kingdom. He is a fountain of
wisdom on Astrology in Tibetan Medicine."*

What: Brief, 15-30 min. guided meditation and talk by Lobsang with Q&A.
Snacks and tea provided!

Where: ULU room 2B, Malet St. (normal meeting place, see

When: Mon 3/11, arrive 6:30 pm, meditation begins at 7 pm

Why: A *rare opportunity* to hear the teaching and learn about the life of a
brilliant Tibetan monk and friend of ULUBUDA!

Note: For those of you who have not yet paid £4 in membership dues, we would
kindly request you do so at this Monday's event. The continuance of ULUBUDA
depends on us collecting this fee from you, and so we ask you to help us
continue to provide such awesome and varied programming!
