Dear members,

For this coming Monday, ULUBUDA is going to take a break from organising our
weekly meditation sessions (but this does not mean a break from your regular
self practice =)) and bring to you a

*Talk by Federico Filippi on the topic 'Lay Ethics: An Early Buddhist
Perspective'*

This talk is ideal for many of us students as it will be sharing thoughts on
the Buddhist teachings and how it relates to the regular roles we play in
our society as a student, teacher, child, parent, husband, wife, friend etc.

As a fellow ULUBUDA member, Federico had previously delivered simple but
interesting talks from a lay practitioner's perspective to members of
ULUBUDA and ICBS. So for this year, we are delighted to bring him back again
to share with us his thoughts on the teachings of Buddhism and how it
relates to the life of lay people. He has had experience as a visiting
lecturer at St. Mary's University College (Uni. of Surrey) in London on the
course titled 'Indian Philosophy' and currently, he is pursuing a PhD
program on the 'Study of Religions' at SOAS.

This is a great chance to learn a little more about the values and moral
principles of Buddhism that has helped guide Buddhists alike. It will also
be a good opportunity to pose and/or discuss any questions that you may
have pertaining to the topic. The session will be very chilled (as regular
ULUBUDA sessions are) so it's also a good way to just sit, listen and enjoy
some refreshments. We recommend all members to attend this talk and you are
free to bring your friends along as well.
