We will be conducting our weekly meditation as usual this coming Monday, 8th
February.

For those who have not attended a session, Ajahn is a Thai Buddhist monk,
currently residing in the UK (Buddhapadipa Temple in Wimbledon). He has been
with ULUBUDA for many years now and he is a very nice and simple teacher who
is always open to your questions on meditation or the Dhamma (Buddha's
teachings) in general.

You do not need to have any experience in meditation to try it out and it's
never too late to start! Feel free to come at any time that's convenient for
you.

*2. Chinese/Lunar New Year (reUnion) Dinner!!!*

Following our successful Christmas Dinner last year, ULUBUDA, the Imperial
College Buddhist Society (ICBS) and the University College London Buddhist
Society (UCLUBS) will be organising a joint Chinese New Year Dinner on the
12th of February in Chinatown!

For those who are unfamiliar with this festival, it is celebrated by all
ethnic Chinese around the world to usher in the new year based on the Lunar
Calendar. The dates vary every year (between late January and early
February) and this year it happens to fall on the 14th of February (which
happens to also be Valentine's Day!).

It is a tradition for all families to gather for a dinner on the eve of the
new year where all members from near or far travel home to celebrate with
their loved ones, and this is also known as a Reunion Dinner.

So in line with this tradition, we shall reunite again with our brothers and
sisters in the Dharma from all different unions to celebrate a Re-Union
Dinner!

We have made a reservation at Top of the Town Chinese Restaurant on
Chinatown's main street for Friday night (12th February) at 7.30p.m. It is
going to be a vegetarian dinner and will be approx. £8 per person max*.
(*There is a chance we may lower the cost depending on the menu and
subsidies from ULUBUDA).

However as of now, we only have a *quota of 15 places *for ULUBUDA members
on a* first come first serve basis. So please reply ASAP with your Name,
University (for students), and Contact Number to reserve a place! *
*
*
*For those who feel they may not be able to reply early, fret not! Just let
us know as we will put your name down on the waiting list and hopefully we
can increase the number of reserved places.*
